INTAKE PRIMARY SCHOOL PUPIL PREMIUM SPENDING ALLOCATION

We aim to improve both the attainment and achievement of all our pupils regardless of their circumstance. Raising the aspirations, attainment and self-esteem of our least financially advantaged pupils is a major priority of the school.

Allocation of Funding 2011-12

This was £52, 216,

This money was used for:-

  • £5000 Teacher Interventions for the lowest attaining pupils delivered by funded staff-booster groups and 1:1 tuition
  • £20,000 PSA focussed on attainment, behaviour for learning, self-esteem, confidence linked to attendance and punctuality
  • Nurture groups
  • £1000 Curriculum Innovation – Curriculum Weeks, First Hand Experiences to give experience and opportunities.
  • Residential Visits for Y5& Y6 to develop self-esteem, confidence,
  • Trips and Visitors – a significant contribution to cost funded by school enabling all children to attend
  • Harnessing technology – additional ipads purchased for and used by the lowest attaining pupils
  • Reading recovery training
  • Learning Mentor Training
  • Early Intervention – Classes run by and funded by school for pre-school children include ‘Play and Stay’, ‘Story and Music Time’ ‘Story Sacks’ and ‘Rhyme Time’


Impact

  • A wide range of appropriate teaching and learning strategies contribute to the quality of pupils’ work and learning. Feedback and Marking constructively contribute to children’s learning.
  • Almost all pupils demonstrate high levels of interest, enthusiasm and engagement in teaching and learning across the curriculum.
  • Additional support is used very effectively to enhance the quality of learning and progress of pupils with Special educational needs and Free school meals. (Attainment Data)
  • Effective deployment of staff and the targeting teachers /support staff / mentors to key groups is a strong feature of the school.
  • Excellent pastoral support provided by all staff, especially for our most vulnerable children.
  • Excellent resources including ICT are used well to promote good learning.
  • The school has a very effective policy, systems and strategy for assessing, recording and reporting pupils’ progress that meets the needs of all.
  • Our school data shows that our key pupils have made good progress.

2012-13

This year our allocated funding is £78, 498

  • Reduce class sizes in year 6 to 16 per class
  • Specific phonic interventions to support Rec, Y1 and Y2 children who may be at risk of falling behind
  • £20000 Learning Mentor/PSA to boost confidence, raise self-esteem and attainment, to monitor and improve attendance and punctuality.
  • £20000 Phonics training and resources
  • Improved School Resources such as reading materials and new technologies
  • £5000 Teacher Interventions for the lowest attaining pupils delivered by funded staff-booster groups and 1:1 tuition
  • £1500 catch up literacy training
  • £4000 achievement for all
  • £40000 extra Teacher to cover PPA
  • Curriculum enhancement such as visits to the theatre, museums and attractions.
  • Subsidised visits and visitors so that all children have access to the curriculum
  • Extra-Curricular Clubs - after school at reduced cost to parents
  • Provide extra-curricular clubs after school and at lunch time.
  • Staff Development – INSET time to raise awareness of FSM pupils and their vulnerabilities
  • Leadership and Management (portion DHT – analysis and evaluation)

  • Pre-school Early Intervention – Rhyme Time, Play and Stay and parents classes - to support our families and encourage parental involvement. £500
  • £35000 Learning Mentor/Pastoral Manager PSA to boost confidence, raise self-esteem and attainment, to monitor and improve attendance and punctuality.
  • Learning Mentor training £1000
  • £2000 Therapeutic training for vulnerable children linked with PSA and Learning Mentor
  • PE Coach -teachers to receive time out of class for focus groups 1:1 feedback, targets and support-time to feedback and provide focussed support £5400
  • Early Intervention - Reduce class sizes in Y2 and Y6 class – to closing the gap £65000 +extra support
